Genau, keine Fremden Server.

Minecraft "Better Together" (PC/X1/Switch/Mobile): Crossplay, Dedicated Servers+More

A game all about teamwork, building together and creating communities shouldn't be restricted to one device, which is why our Better Together Update introduces cross-platform play, breaking down the barriers and letting people play the same complete Minecraft with each other across devices! We've wanted to integrate cross-platform for ages, essentially making a version of Minecraft that's consistent no matter what device you're choosing to play on.

So going forward, the edition you'll find on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile and VR will simply be known as 'Minecraft'
, a separate entity from 'Minecraft: Java Edition', which is the original PC game (that we'll continue to support, of course). This means when you buy 'Minecraft', you're buying a game that can you can play with friends across devices.

Anyone playing the game on Windows 10, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and VR devices will be able to play online together.
If you own Minecraft for your mobile or VR device, you'll get this as a free update this summer. If you own Minecraft: Xbox One Edition or Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition, you’ll receive the brand new version of Minecraft for free, and your existing worlds and DLC will come along to the new version with you. What’s more, any DLC you purchase will be accessible amongst the various devices at no extra charge. (For example: if you buy the Greek Mythology pack on Nintendo Switch, you’ll also own it on the mobile, Xbox One and Windows 10 Editions too - no extra charge).
Independent servers, run by members of the amazing Minecraft community, have been around since the earliest days of the game. They're essentially online platforms where you can socialise, play and collaborate with millions of other players! Basically, servers make it easier for you to enjoy multiplayer Minecraft and access new mini-games, worlds, and friends to craft with! Nice!

Unlike Minecraft Realms, which gives you access to a private, cloud-hosted world for you and your friends, servers are open and accessible to everyone - some have monthly users in the millions!

So this Summer, all platforms receiving the Better Together Update will then have a server browser in the Minecraft start menu. This'll let you search a list of servers which you can join right away! We'll be launching with four servers – Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPVP, and Cubecraft - with more to follow. Plus we've made sure that parental controls and other safety features will be in place, so you decide what your child can access. We'll have a more detailed summary of servers closer to the update. After all, we live to serve(er)! ...sorry.
For a full breakdown of everything in the "Better Together" relaunch check this thread.

Overview:

  • Infinite World Sizes on all platforms
  • Unified codebase under the new Bedrock Engine for faster, easier, simultaneous updates
  • Crossbuy for all DLC purchases across all Better Together platforms
  • Crossplay across all Better Together platforms
  • Cloud based Realms support allows you to set up your own private persistent worlds for a group of friends
  • Dedicated Servers that can support thousands of concurrent players; basically Minecraft MMO
  • Unified Community Marketplace featuring user created content

Technically the PS4 version is also the 360, Wii U, Vita, and PS3 version, so there's still plenty of platforms for that version of the engine (360 and PS3 still get updated to parity with everyone else)

tl;dr

4Jengine: 360, PS3, Vita, PS4, Wii U, the current version of Xone and Switch engines

Bedrock: (when this update goes out) Xone, Switch, Win10, Android/iOS

Java: the og Minecraft, still doing it's own thing

E3 2017: Sony verhindert Minecraft Cross-Platform Play

Zuletzt editiert:

https://minecraft.net/en-us/article/update-aquatic-coming-legacy-console-editions
As you’ve probably heard, the Update Aquatic is soon to bring all kinds of underwater fun to players on Java Edition and the new Bedrock Engine-based versions of Minecraft for Xbox One, Switch, mobile and Windows 10. But we won’t be leaving crafters on other consoles high and dry!

Arriving a little while after the initial launch, players on PlayStation 4 Edition, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS Vita and Wii U will all receive the Update Aquatic. With the exception of PlayStation 4 Edition, this will mark the last big effort to keep those editions up to date with our newer versions of the game. Although we’d love to keep bringing new content to all our players forever, the older generation of consoles now make up less than 5% of our active players, so we’ve made the difficult decision to focus our efforts to support players where they play Minecraft the most and where we plan to add new features: on Java, PlayStation 4 Edition and the versions of Minecraft made with the Bedrock Engine on other consoles, mobile, and Windows 10.

Because players on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch will be able to upgrade to the new version of Minecraft, with all the Aquatic fun included, we won’t be adding the Update Aquatic features to the older Editions of the game that are still playable on these consoles. So it’s a good time to take the plunge with the new version! If you own the older version of Minecraft on Xbox One, you can grab the new version of Minecraft from the Xbox store for free. Switch players will receive a patch for the Update Aquatic once it releases and will also be able to install the new version of the game for free.

Supportende für:
PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, Wii U
