We plan to remove FTP protocol implementation from our code. This work
is tracked in bug 1574475 [1]. The plan is to

- place FTP behind a pref and turn it off by default on 77 [2]
- keep FTP enabled by default on 78 ESR [3]
- remove the code completely at the beginning of 2021

We're doing this for security reasons. FTP is an insecure protocol and
there are no reasons to prefer it over HTTPS for downloading resources.
Also, a part of the FTP code is very old, unsafe and hard to maintain
and we found a lot of security bugs in it in the past. After disabling
FTP in our code, the protocol will be handled by external application,
so people can still use it to download resources if they really want to.
However, it won't be possible to view and browse directory listings.

WTF? Restricted words ~fuckthatshit~

Can I get a list of all of the command line arguments for Edge?

Unfortunately, we are not today publishing the list of command line arguments, although in principle we could use the same tool Chromium does to parse our source and generate a listing.

In general, our command-line arguments are the same as those in Chrome (Warning: This list may be outdated), with the exception of marketing names (e.g. Chrome uses --incognito while msedge.exe uses --inprivate) and restricted words (sometimes Edge replaces blacklist with denylist and whitelist with allowlist).
https://textslashplain.com/2020/02/26/can-i-in-the-new-edge/

Take back your privacy

Get the browser that blocks 2000+ trackers — automatically

Download Firefox

Mozilla will dabei einen evtl.

With Firefox 75, we’re launching a new scheduled task for Windows that will help us understand changes in default browser settings.

About Mypal

Mypal is a current and maintained Windows XP web browser. Mypal is based on Moonchild Productions' Pale Moon code, which itself was forked from Mozilla's FireFox code several years ago, but is also maintained and kept current.

The goal of Mypal is to provide a current, secure, and reliable web browser for Windows XP. Mypal operates identically to Pale Moon with some minor exceptions. Introduced new portable system and certain settings, including unused legacy Mozilla code, have been removed.

One day. Two big Vivaldi browser releases

Vivaldi browser partners with DuckDuckGo for Tracker blocker

Why we introduced Ad blocker to Vivaldi browser
First, Google decided to push on with discontinuing APIs used by several content blockers from the extension manifest v3. At the time, we made a promise to find a solution.

Keeping support for the affected extensions (as with anything that gets discontinued in Chromium) would have been hard. Google usually removes most of the code a discontinued feature depends on and refactors anything that code relies on. So after a few versions, you end up with a patch that’s tough to apply every time.

Second, when we released Vivaldi for Android Beta last year, we heard time and time again that ad blocker is imperative on browsers for Android. Ads increase page load times and eat up precious data. An ad blocker is a must if you have a limited data plan.

With the technology for Ad blocker in place, the demand for it on Android, and the team looking for a solution to Manifest v3, it made sense to go ahead and expose the controls for Ad blocker.

Add to your custom-CSS this code:

.button-toolbar.ContentBlocker-Control {
display: none !important;
}

If you have questions, please open a thread at Home > Vivaldi Browser > Customizations & Extensions > Modifications

Wirkt dadurch leider weniger nativ.

The popup panel and dashboard have been redesigned to be more user friendly, including more mobile-friendly. The re-design is being done by taking into account @brampitoyo's suggestions and feedback.

You can revert to the old popup panel by setting uiFlavor to classic in advanced settings -- though keep in mind the old panel is not likely to be kept around forever.

Google will Tokens statt Cookies
https://www.golem.de/news/online-we...ative-zu-third-party-cookies-2008-150016.html

Trust Tokens is a new API to help combat fraud and distinguish bots from real humans, without passive tracking.
These tokens are non-personalized and cannot be used to track users, but are cryptographically signed so they cannot be forged.
https://web.dev/trust-tokens/
~notsure~
