Erwähnt man, daß Firefox mal wieder was von Chrome kopiert habe, reagiert Mozilla bzw. linientreue Fans oft empfindlich und zurückweisend .

Weil Chrome früher mal ein größeres Logo als Firefox hatte !!!
Das geht gar nicht, also laßt uns unser Logo auch größer machen!

Ein paar Jahre später hat Chrome ein einigermaßen normales Logo, und Firefox immer noch dieses Monster. Interessiert bei Mozilla aber niemanden mehr.

Ab Firefox 115 funktionieren auf manchen Seiten nur noch einige Erweiterungen, die Mozilla erlaubt. Alle anderen werden dort deaktiviert!

Signaturzwang und die Einführung von beschränkten Web Extensions reichen wohl noch nicht.

We need to have ability to set the list of quarantined domains remotely. The pref should be a string with the same format as extensions.webextensions.restrictedDomains.

The pref will be extensions.webextensions.quarantinedDomains, and it will have a default value set in a patch for bug 1745823 (to include a couple real but "test" subdomains from badssl.com).

The SeaMonkey project is proud to present SeaMonkey 2.53.17: The new release of the all-in-one Internet suite is available for download now! 2.53.17 is an incremental update from the 2.53.x branch and incorporates a number of changes as well as fixes from the underlying platform code.

There is now preliminary support for logical assignment operators. Support for the obsolete e4x for each iterator has been removed, this might affect old add-ons. Python 2 is no longer required to build SeaMonkey.

Nachdem Google DRM gegen das offene Web für Audio/Video durchsetzen konnte, kommt jetzt der Angriff auf das ganze Web.

DRM für Webseiten, verkauft als "Web Environment Integrity API".
Braucht man natürlich gegen böse Cheater in Onlinespielen, oder Spamming von Social Media Posts!

Im Klartext würde das den Tod jedes freien Browsers bedeuten und das Ende des WWW wie wir es kennen.

Chromium's propotype is currently relying on Play Integrity (https://developer.android.com/google/play/integrity), but the specification is clear that it is vendor-neutral. However, I have personal concerns since that while EME in theory is vendor-neutral, in practice there is only three vendors which are widely-recognized: Google Widevine (which is used by Firefox in most platforms plus in Chrome and Android), Microsoft PlayReady (used by Microsoft Edge and Windows plus in some Android devices alongside Widevine), and Apple FairPlay (used in Safari and everything Apple).

It is reasonable that the current situation in EME would translate into this specification. This may hinder users of other browsers since while in theory websites would just try to verify the identity by other means in practice this would lead to websites requiring pre-approved browsers.

Google hat noch ein paar Dinge verbessert. Das Grundproblem bleibt aber: Es filtert nicht mehr die Erweiterung sondern nur noch der Browser.

Wie vor Jahren bereits mit dem alten Firefox für Android möglich, erlaubt Mozilla jetzt endlich auch beim "neuen" Firefox für Android die Installation von allen kompatiblen Addons über addons.mozilla.org (AMO).

Wow, thanks for sharing. I just installed Firefox Nightly (v122.0a1) from the Play Store and sideloading does work again. After tapping the Nightly logo several times, an "Install add-on from file" option shows up in the settings. I can even install an unsigned add-on with "xpinstall.signatures.required" set to "false" in about:config. For the longest time, Nightly allowed users to set up the "Custom Add-on collections" workaround to install add-ons from addons.mozilla.org but not sideload add-ons directly, so this is a major improvement.

Edit: Nightly gained the ability to sideload add-ons 2 weeks ago from the pull request at https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/firefox-android/pull/4568. Also, a Mozilla employee has confirmed that sideloading is going to make it to the release channel of Firefox for Android!* Firefox is having an incredible month. It took time, but I'm extremely glad Mozilla is taking user feedback seriously.
