2015 geht die GT Academy in ihr siebtes Jahr. Zum ersten mal wird der Wettbewerb auch im Ursprungsland des Spieles, Japan, ausgetragen.

Die australische Ankündigung verrät: Gefahren wird in GT6 auf der PS3.

GT Academy 2015 Officially Announced for Australia

Although the official announcement is short on details (there’s still no starting date), it does confirm the competition will be hosted within Gran Turismo 6 on PlayStation 3, and it’s expected that Australia will once again be part of the GT Academy International Region, which last year also included Thailand, India, the Middle East, and Mexico, which eventually produced 2014 champion Ricardo Sanchez.

Big changes for GT Academy in 2015

- European racecamp will be held in Abu Dhabi
- No Russia, or Sweden (Brazil promised for 2016)
- No more independent racecamps (three instead of four as per the last three years). The US is now thrown into the 'International' fold along with a few familiars (USA, Australia, Mexico, Egypt, Algeria, Turkey). Still no confirmation on Canada...
- GT Academy Asia is here and Japan will finally get a real shot! (Japan, India, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia)

There will be three international regions in this year’s competition: GT Academy Europe, GT Academy International, and GT Academy Asia. The three regions are divided up as follows:

GT Academy Europe

• France
• Italy
• Germany
• UK
• Iberia (Spain, Portugal)
• Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg)
• CEE (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic)

GT Academy International

• United States of America
• Australia
• Mexico
• Egypt
• Algeria
• Turkey

GT Academy Asia

• Japan
• India
• Thailand
• Philippines
• Indonesia

Observers will note that this is a fairly radical departure from previous seasons: there are no individual country regions, as was the case with the United States, Russia, and Germany in years’ past. Notably, Russia, Sweden, and Canada are apparently not part of GT Academy 2015.

Another big change: the final stage of GT Academy, “Race Camp”, will be leaving its spiritual home of Silverstone for the first time. The European finals will instead be hosted at the Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit in Abu Dhabi. All the action will be recorded for a reality TV series airing later this year.

The prize, of course, is as big as ever, with the champions receiving a full season of racing in the 2016 Blancpain Endurance Series driving a 550bhp Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 race car.

Entrants must then again update their copy of the Game, on or after 02 June 2015 at 08.00 BST, and, when prompted, accept these Terms and choose to enter the Competition before completing the fourth (4th) competitive round, which will be available on 2 June 2015 at 08.00 BST.

Vielleicht nochmal ein neues Auto?

It's [LMP2] not in the dealerships yet though. I suspect that will be rectified on June 2nd - along with whatever the final round is (which will in no way be the GT-R LMP1 at La Sarthe).

It's just my assumption this time.

We know the GT-R LMP1 is coming, we know that the cars have got faster each round, we know that they don't like having the final round spoiled ahead of time (see 2013) and we know that there's an update before the final round.

The final round occurs over the Le Mans weekend and the NISMO marketing machine is genius, targetting the fans in a major way - what better way than to have loads of Gran Turismo 6 booths running a GT-R LMP1/Le Mans build all weekend?

It was my guess right from the moment the last update came with three GT Academy-badged cars and four rounds of time trials...

Laurence Wiltshire, the managing director of GT Academy had a radio interview on Monday and just said the GT-R LM Nismo will be the car used in the 4th round.

Spa ist nicht Pad-freundlich:

I've just watched the top replay taking Eau Rouge flat out. I remember last year in the final round where that seemed possible with a steering wheel but not with a DS3.

EDIT: Yeah, just had a go with the wheel and the same thing is happening with this TT.

The DS3 users are not gonna be able to take Eau Rouge as well as wheelers.

EDITx2: Turn-in with wheel is like chalk and cheese to the pad.......everywhere on the track.

115,226 entries in this round when I looked about 9hrs ago just before round 3 opened. For reference, there were just under 160k in Round 1.

No idea how many duplicate accounts might be in there, inflating the numbers.

EDIT: 45min later there's 60 additional entries.
