FF1 Warrior of Light
Warrior of Light is an all-rounder character balanced in offense and defense. His “Shield of Light” completely nullifies all Brave Attacks against him, and he also has abilities that increase defense and other attack functions.
His EX Skill “Holy Chain” is like a “Provoke” move that gets all nearby enemies to focus on him, making him a good ally to have as a tank of the party.

FF2 Firion
Firion excels on ground combat with his overwhelming strength and attack range. He is characterized by his ability to throw in Brave Attacks that have two or three steps, and can change it accordingly to his situation. He can also do combos without having to land hits on his opponents.
His unique EX Skill “Blood weapon” slowly depletes his health, but allows him to drain HP from his opponents whenever hitting them while active.

FF3 Onion Knight
Onion Knight is a character who changes depending on playstyle. While he mostly excels in speed, he can continuously hit enemies with physical attacks when in his close-ranged “Ninja” form, and can also go into “Sage” form for long-ranged magic attacks.
He’s one of the more versatile characters that allow you to switch jobs at any time according to the situation or party setup.

FF4 Cecil Harvey
-Cecil is a Heavy-type who can switch between Paladin and Dark Knight. Paladin is a Heavy-Speed hybrid and DK is a Heavy-Shoot hybrid. His EX is Job change, when it's used he gains extra stats for brief period of time. Paladin has 3 air braves and one ground. DK has 3 ground and 1 air.

FF5 Bartz Klauser
-Bartz is a Unique-type Job Master, each move represents a job. He is late-game type character comparable to late-game carries from MOBA and RTS games. His early game is weak but as he masters his jobs (by using a move repetitively) the move is upgraded and he gains a special buff(i.e Dragoon's buff is Defence Up), HP attack doesn't give a buff. His Jobs are Monk, Dragoon, Black Mage, Mystic Knight, Blue Mage, Hunter, Ninja and Samurai. EX Skill is Lucky Charm(?) and gives his buffs to his allies.

FF6 Terra Branford
Terra can charge her magic power that increases all of her attacks by simply not attacking for a short period of time. While she can’t shoot multiple shots of magic while charging, they gain more power and range, so her playstyle revolves around splitting time between her rapid fire regular magic mode, and the powerful ranged mode.
Her “Trance” EX Skill increases all stats, so it’ll be a useful one to have when you want to rush down enemies or need to take some cover.

FF7 Cloud Strife
Cloud can increase the power of almost all of his attacks by holding down the button. These hold attacks have good range and are good for breaking down defenses, making him a good choice on the offense.
His EX Skill “Limit Break” doesn’t require much time to charge up, so it’s one of his most useful features in adding the pressure to the opponents.

FF8 Squall Leonhart
He’s listed as a Speed-type character who can increase his attack power by timing his attacks with a good tempo.
His EX Skill is called “Draw & Junction,” and it increases his abilities to make them go well against his locked-on target, based on their range and type.
[ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3z6ZvcB2Ao[/ame]

FF9 Zidane Tribal
Zidane is categorized as a Speed-type character, and it’s pretty evident in his gameplay footage. He specializes in his dash Brave move “Steal” which doesn’t damage enemies but can make them weaker in return for buffs for himself.
Again, when he uses his EX Skill “Trance” in addition to granting him higher stats, his “Steal” attack becomes “Mug” and it also damages enemies on top of its regular effects.

FF12 Vaan

FF 13 Lightning Farron
[ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGanWbw4rno[/ame]

FF 14 Y'shtola
-Y'shtola's specialises in supporting her allies and her spells have a bonus effects other than damage as in FFXIV. Aero applies a DoT, Stone applies a slow and Blizzara binds the enemy. She can heal her allies too apparently.

Interviews

So far, it’s been announced that Dissidia Final Fantasy on arcade will feature characters from the first Final Fantasy up until Final Fantasy XIV. Dengeki asks if there’s a chance we’ll see Noctis from Final Fantasy XV as one of the characters that eventually makes it into the game.

“We’re thinking about it, of course. He would likely use something like his ‘Phantom Swords’,” Kujiraoka says with a laugh.

“There are even some among us that have been thinking about it, saying ‘if Noctis will be in it, how will he perform those warps?’” adds Hayashi.

“However, this will have to be after Final Fantasy XV releases,” Hazama says. “It would be a bit too much to play as a Final Fantasy XV character in arcades right after the demo.”

Considering that Team Ninja are working on the development of Dissidia Final Fantasy, Dengeki asks if there’s a chance of seeing characters from the Dead or Alive series. To this, Hayashi responds by saying that for Dissidia Final Fantasy, it would be best to develop the game with Final Fantasy fans in mind. Team Ninja’s role is to provide their knowhow, experience, and technology.

Since their goal is to add 50 characters or more, there may be a lot of space in the roster for other characters, but Hayashi says that Final Fantasy is a series with a lot of characters, so there will be plenty to choose from, and clarifies that they don’t have any plans on adding Dead or Alive characters.
