GT Academy 2013

2012 wurde die GT Academy am 16. April angekündigt und ab 1.5. stand der Download im PSN zur Verfügung. Dieses Jahr wurde noch nichts offizielles verkündet, aber es sind ein paar Infos durchgesickert:

Here's some official info and speculation.

Race camps will be held in September and run for 5 weeks. The European camp will coincide with the 24 hours of Silverstone on 20 - 22 of September, i.e. TV cameras will be around to film the final race at end of the week.

And now for some of my own speculation. A new region will most likely be added and Germany will become part of the EU camp again. Race camps will probably be US, Russia, Europe, Middle East/SA and a new territory possibly Australasia and or South America. Maybe Russia will become part of the Middle East, I honestly don't know, but I do feel they will expand and include more countries.

I don't have any more than that I'm afraid but best of luck to all of you who are going for it this year!

GT Academy 2013 is gearing up in the United States, and information about the coveted “Racer X” wildcard position has finally been released.

This year’s “Racer X” challenge will be held at E3 2013 in Los Angeles, on June 12-13, and will allow an eligible member of the public to become the first member of the top 32 finalists in the United States as determined by a fastest-lap time-trial.

If you’d like to go to E3 yourself and take a shot at the Racer X title, listen up: Nissan and Sony are also hosting a contest which will give five Gran Turismo fans an all-expense-paid trip to Los Angeles, where they can jump to the front of the line in the Racer X time trial challenge.

To enter, create a 1-minute video that shows off your sim-racing rig and shows off your creativity and enthusiasm for GT Academy, and submit your application here. Be sure to read over the official rules, and hurry - the contest closes to new entries on June 2, 2013, at 11:59pm ET.

Am 2. Juli geht's los!

During the Racer X competition finals at E3, Sony revealed the release date for the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 6 demo which will host this year’s GT Academy: Tuesday, July 2, 2013.
The demo will be available to download from the PlayStation Store. After speaking with an SCEA representative at E3, GTPlanet can independently confirm the demo will contain only Nissan cars, as they are obviously the sole sponsor of the competition.

Details on GT Academy 2013 have finally been released, as we are now less than a week away from the start of this year’s competition.

The competition officially begins at 08:00 GMT/UTC on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, with the release of the Gran Turismo 6 demo as a free download from the PlayStation Store.

GT Academy 2013′s public qualification round will continue until 10:59 GMT/UTC on Sunday, July 28, 2013. The GT6 demo will remain available to play until August 31, 2013.

Eligible contestants from the following regions will be able to enter the competition. As in previous years, each region will crown its own 2013 champion:

GT Academy 2013 North America

GT Academy 2013 Germany

• Germany

GT Academy 2013 Russia

• Russia

GT Academy 2013 Europe

• France
• Italy
• UK
• Spain
• Portugal
• Belgium
• The Netherlands

The GT6 demo will guide players through beginner rounds of a GT Academy-themed race camp using the Nissan Leaf, 370Z, and GT-R, before unlocking the final qualifying event featuring the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit. Anyone who registers and submits a qualifying time will receive free “bonus content” (it’s not specified if this bonus content will be available in GT5 or GT6).

The official announcement also confirms more “GT Academy Live Events” will be held around the world to offer more contestants a chance to participate.

The prize for the 2013 competition is bigger and better than ever, with the winners set to receive a complete racing season behind the wheel of a Nissan GT-R GT3 NISMO.

I posted this in the GT5 V.I.P. forum but I've figured it might get more notice here, has it been noted that user, Need4Speed685, has set a time for the final locked 15th Anniversary time trial using the GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport '13? His time can be viewed on gran-turismo.com. It doesn't say what track the time was set on (presumably the full Silverstone Circuit) though.

Oh, hier passts ja besser... war bis vorhin 70. in Deutschland (wo ich jetzt bin, weiß ich nicht) mit einer Zeit von 2:20,150 Min. mit dem 370Z.

Da ist noch was drin, hab aber für heute keine Lust mehr. Bin nun auch seit Monaten nicht mehr mit dem Lenkrad gefahren...

Also a heads up to anyone who wants to play the final event early ahead of July 29th, change the date to 29/07 and load up GT Academy 2013. Then just go into "GT 15th Anniversary" in Special Events and the 3rd Time Trial has been revealed:

A Time Trial around Silverstone in a Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport '13. I also currently have the online record for this event... hehehehehehehehe.
