Acquire held a blogger demo event for PlayStation Vita's Sumioni yesterday. Famitsu.com attended the event and reported back on a few bits of information that producer Junichiro Tamura shared during a Q&A session.

According to Tamura, Acquire will be offering a free update at some point that adds a ranking mode. With this mode, you'll be able to upload your clear time and damage amounts (the damage ranking is based of how little damage you do).

There could be more substantial content on the way outside of this update. Tamura said that the team is looking into adding extra stages via download content. The development team will continue to work after the game's release, he said, so we can probably expect additional developments.

Does Xseed Own The A Piece Of Sumioni: Demon Arts?

Xseed JKS is bringing Sumioni: Demon Arts from Akihabara based developer Acquire overseas. Usually, when a company publishes a game the rights to the intellectual property stay with the Japanese publisher. This is the case even for Grand Knights History, a Marvelous AQL game and you may recall Marvelous AQL is Xseed’s parent company.



Acquire and Xseed may be sharing the rights to Sumioni: Demon Arts. Check out this Famitsu report. The article mention downloadable content plans like a post-launch time attack ranking mode and possibly extra levels for players to download.



All the way at the bottom, the copyright information credits Acquire and Xseed JKS. If that’s the case Sumioni: Demon Arts might be the first intellectual property Xseed partially owns. We’ll check in with Xseed to see if this is accurate and if it is that would make Sumioni: Demon Arts one of Xseed’s important projects for 2012.

Das schöne eigenartige Kunstwerk hat mein Interesse geweckt.
Es ist das dritte Spiel für den PSV, die mich interessiert.

Fraglich ist, ob das Spiel überhaupt nach EU kommt.
Ich hoffe, es kommt nach EU und da kann ich mir zuschlagen !

Ist es irgendwo bekannt, ob das Spiel Sumioni nach EU kommt ?

Sumioni Getting Patched With Gallery and Ranking Mode

Sumioni saw release today. Acquire wasted no time in announcing a patch for the Vita title.

In the coming days, the game will receive a free patch that adds two modes, a Gallery Mode and a Ranking Mode. Gallery Mode lets you view the visuals and listen to the music that you encounter in the game. Ranking Mode is a nation-wide challenge to see who can clear the stages of play the fastest and while taking the least amount of damage.

Acquire did not give an exact release time frame for the patch, but you can see some screens here.

There’s also the inevitable Ogre, also referred to as the “God of Misfortune”. The Ogre is slow, but makes up for it with his massive size and ability to draw flames from beneath the ground.

Sumioni: Demon Arts is slated for release sometime in Spring.

Sumioni: Demon Arts Is Only $20 In North America

In Japan, Sumioni: Demon Arts is a retail game priced at 5,229 yen ($64). Xseed plans to sell the platformer where you play as a demon armed with a magical platform making paintbrush for just $19.99. The game will be released as a digital download on PlayStation Network in North America.



Sumioni: Demon Arts has 30 stages and multiple endings depending on which route you take. Xseed plans on releasing additional downloadable content like online leaderboards after the game launches on March 20.

ja bei mir siehts ähnlich aus, aber beim Saturn angebot musste ich sie mir einfach holen ^^
gut, jetzt nur wegem einem game (was es auch noch gar nicht gibt) machts echt wenig Sinn eine zu holen. Ich hatte auf meiner psp schon viele must haves deswegen war die Vita für mich n no brainer

Acquire’s action-platformer Sumioni: Demon Arts will finally be releases in Europe through the PlayStation Store next week. Filled with lovely Japanese artistry, the title was released in March through the US PS Store. Those living in regions serviced by the EU PS Store, can download it on January 16 for €9.99/£7.99.

Naja das Spiel gibts ja seit Ewigkeiten im US Store, is da nix durchgedrungen ?
Ich habs noch nicht gezockt, sieht interessant aus, deshalb wär ne Demo gut
