Jason, if you are a journalist you should perhaps investigate a few things.
Such as the number of employees that are blood related to the Yerlis. The Turkish option for language, the number of other languages put in just to cover up this fact.
The studio in Turkey is an expenditure studio, it was never meant to produce anything under the guise of "Engine sales with the eastern world" but judging from the Yerli familys apartment investments, this looks like a money laundering scheme.
To help Sally's statement, there are two things the Yerli's want from the employee: Absolute loyalty and the Promise to Achieve the Impossible. In their eyes the loyalty only comes from the 50 or so first members of Crytek, when Cevats mother used to do a large batch of home-cooking since they could not afford takeaway (or so they say, they may have stolen more money this way who knows). As Far-cry hit the shelves they started promoting within and it hasn't stopped.
One such person is nicknamed Emil, none of the grunts knows what he does at the office but people know you shouldn't piss him off and you should nod to most of what he does. The problem doesn't stop there, one other developer that has been at crytek from the beginning ran the gamut of professions at Crytek proving every single time he was not skilled enough in any field, thus his job role changed from modeler to concept-art to level-design etc etc. He was never let go, even in a company that had +75 people turned over every year. There are more examples of this.
Now the answer could easily be to hire fresh blood. Problem with that is the Extremely-Turkish-borthers (They made the company logo into the Turkish eye for good luck or something) doesn't trust anyone it doesn't like. So they Hire people that promises them the moon. People that promised them COD sales and pumped bad ideas into the Yerlis who very happily got down on the knees and swallowed the story.
They hired a person specifically to fire employees, this person took offence and resigned.
But not only the good people left, katharina hautz who at the time was rumored to sleep her way up. Because going from junior to senior in upper management within a year while junior artists and programmers wait for well over 3 years before promotions is just too fishy. She now works at Rovio, good luck with that. Her One-eyed boyfriend Jan Lechner was supposed to oversee the 3D production for the Crysis games, but he cant even see in 3D, he now also joined her at Rovio just in time for the troubles to start happening. Crytek have had a colorblind art director, the colour-blindness wasn't a problem, his rudeness was.
How bad are these people? well a lot of employees will remember their names and many others just so they can avoid ever working with them again. Some even joked that they will resign their current position at other companies if the problem people where hired. If that doesn't even hint of how bad these people where, you should disconnect your screen and throw into the bin along with your soul.
So what is the ambiance at Crytek? In crysis2 Cevat forced the developers to model his wife into the game. Scared as people where they did not dare to change anything, resulting in the character having the wrong scale/height for the majority of scenes, out of fear. The Entirety of these games have basically nobody under the age of 18 because Cevat wife spawned an offspring and he become more restrictive than ever about showing any young people that could even resemble his demon-child.
I could go into how the nano-suit was a very late addition and not planned from the beginning, to the orignal Crysis-game, How developers constantly had to develop things like "being able to pick up insignificant objects" instead of taking their ideas that they've already shown and proven to everyone the team. But in all earnestness its not that interesting to me or you, 1. you wouldn't understand without context. 2. Context is too dangerous as it reviles viewpoints and therefore vantage points, like a slag sitting on a corner, easy to point out.
Look into how the Yerlis respond to every accusation, with overbearing hate. The times they are civil is when they are in fact assuring their investors, these where not even addressing the accusations just reassuring the investors that their money isn't going into some Turkish guy building a house for rich people in a different country instead to the developers. These are not humble people. Look into the Yerlis family business if you want to know more.
The positive Glassdoor reviews are fucking hilarious, though sadly untrue. So fruits and free drinks are going to make up for firing and fucking up the company for 10 years? These are tools to make you stay at your bloody desk, nothing more, these aren't nice perks, they are invisible chains!
Jason, You don't seem to post everything people write to you, I don't know what that makes you as a journalist if you are doing it to protect your sources then I applaud you.
I can go further, but its your job as a journalist not mine as a "deep throat". You risk nothing, we risk everything.
