Echt wenig hoffe die Zahlen vom 5 ii pushen das noch, in meinem Augen hätten sie das verdient.

Bin im Vergleich zum Mate 20pro, immer noch sehr zufrieden, besonders Video Aufnahmen in 4k, 120 FPS, HDR sind für mich ein Traum. Einzige Nachteil, wenn ich bei nem Videodreh jetzt mein Handy raus hole, wirkt das weniger professionell

This application is compiled with the operating system and does not require a rooted device for use. It uses the same internal APIs as adb backup which is deprecated and thus needs a replacement.

Schaut gut aus. Mir fehlt noch eine manuelle Steuerung um einzelne Programmdaten gezielt sichern und wiederherstellen zu können.

Der kostenlose, unbegrenzte Upload in Google Photos ist Geschichte.
In Zukunft werden alle neuen Uploads auf den Speicher bei Google angerechnet.

Ausgenommen bleiben bisherige Pixelgeräte. Für zukünftige Pixel gibt es keine Ausnahme.

Pixel 5 review: Google spends its bill-of-materials budget unwisely

Ein sehr kritisches Review, aber ehrlich gesagt kann man auch nichts dagegen sagen. Er hat leider Recht. Google weiß einfach nicht, was sie mit den Pixel Phones machen wollen. Da gibt es keinerlei Strategie oder Vision. Zu Beginn wollte man noch die beste Kamera haben, hat man auch geschafft. Nur hat man sie danach nie wieder angepasst....

Google throttled the chipset so much that at times it's slower than the Pixel 4a,which only has a Snapdragon 730. Google's $700 2020 phone is slower than its $350 2020 phone. The Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 score about even in Geekbench 4 single-core scores and the Pixel 4a wins in multi-core and every GFXBench test.

Afair haben sie früher auch schon SOCs nicht so hoch getaktet wie die Konkurrenz.

Today the IMX363 can be found in bottom-of-the-barrel budget phones, like the Redmi 8A, which costs $87. Here, Google is shipping it as the primary sensor in a $700 smartphone.

No one in the smartphone market is really pushing the boundaries of camera hardware. Google hat sich nochmal zu den App Bundles aka Split APKs geäußert. Mir ist weiterhin nicht klar, ob dadurch Entwickler in Zukunft ihre privaten Signaturschlüssel an Google übergeben müssen. Momentan ist das optional.

Apps can still use any minSdkVersion, so there is no change to your ability to build apps for older Android versions.

Das stimmt nicht, denn eine neuere TargetAPI macht manches unmöglich und kann große Umbauarbeiten an Apps erfordern. In der Folge gibt's dann halt gar kein Update, und die App wird evtl. sogar aus dem Store entfernt wenn sie gegen neuere Richtlinien verstößt.

Google RCS soll jetzt überall funktionieren (außer Rußland und China).

Ich hab die fehlende Verschlüsselung von RCS kristisiert. Das will Google jetzt ändern
Ist nicht Teil des Standards, daher funktioniert das nur Google-intern.
Bleibt noch die fehlende Backupmöglichkeit außerhalb von Googles Servern.

Ich benutzte die Google SMS-App nicht.
Wie ist das bei euch, nutzt ihr RCS ("Chat"), funktioniert es überhaupt?

Nach ewigem Warten hab ich nun mein Pixel 5. Gefällt mir auf den ersten Blick ganz gut. Es liegt gut in der Hand, fühlt sich eigentlich auch ziemlich hochwertig an. UI usw. sind natürlich unverändert und die Kamera kennt man. Die ist gut, aber nicht mehr die beste.

Das beste für mich ist eigentlich das 90Hz Display. Das ist echt ein Unterschied und wirkt gleich noch viel flüssiger. Darauf möchte ich echt nicht mehr verzichten.

Die Phone App von Google bekommt evtl. ein neues Icon (und Namen).

Die Form ist noch sehr Eigenständigkeit, aber die typ. Farben wurde integriert

Zumindest die meisten. Hab jetzt nicht unbedingt gemerkt das bestimmte Apps damit nicht laufen.

@crysmopompas Nein du übergibst deinen privaten Signaturschlüssel nicht an Google.
Der wird im Endeffekt nur noch dafür genutzt um vor dem Upload eines Updates zu prüfen ob er mit dem Schlüssel des vorherigen übereinstimmt.
Danach versieht Google die App mit einem Signaturschlüssel der stark genug ist um nicht so leicht geknackt zu werden.
Macht auch Sinn nachdem Google mitbekommen hat das die Leute Schlüssel wie Passwort123 verwendet haben was die ganze Idee hinter dem Schlüssel kaputt macht.
Mag man von halten was man möchte aber vom Sicherheitsaspekt her war es die richtige Entscheidung diesen Weg zu gehen.

Was mich noch nervt: Bis heute kriegt Google es nicht hin vernünftig von einem Handy aufs andere umzuziehen. Wieder muss ich mich überall anmelden usw. Das ist super nervig und sollte viel simpler gehen.

Ich benutze das Feature nicht, aber sollte ein App Daten Backup bei Google nicht mittlerweile funktionieren?

Vielleicht ist es auch ein Feature und kein Bug, soll heißen viele Programme lassen ein Backup nicht zu oder erfordern auf einem neuen Gerät eine neue Anmeldung, um dich zu beschützen .

Google Chrome erlaubt z.B. kein Backup.
