Beim Pixel 7 hat Google den Support für 32Bit Apps entfernt, obwohl es die Hardware kann. Ohne Ankündigung.

Jetzt liefern sie eine Erklärung.
Vieles ist ziemlicher Blödsinn.

Auf einem Gerät mit 8GB RAM - lol.
Will nicht wissen wie viel mehr RAM allein jede neue Androidversion benötigt.
Daß 64Bit Programme grundsätzlich mehr RAM belegen, wird an der Stelle natürlich nicht erwähnt


Das beste kommt am Schluß. Nachdem man erklärt hat warum 64Bit only so toll ist, wird gebeten man solle doch bitte bitte weiter 32Bit Apps unterstützen. Schließlich gibt's noch zahlreiche 32Bit only Plattformen.

Google's likely working on NTFS support for Android! They've added SELinux policy for ntfsfix, a utility to fix some common NTFS problems. We'll still need a functional NTFS implementation and updates to vold (Android's volume daemon) in order to mount NTFS drives, but the existence of this patch suggests they could also be working on adding that.

Android Auto läuft nicht mehr mit Geräten < Android 8.0.

Wird komplett zwangsdeaktivert statt daß man zumindest Grundfunktionen weiter laufen läßt

Alternativsoftware läuft auf dem verschlossenen System auch nicht.

D.h. in allen anderen Ländern und Netzen sind diese Features gesperrt!!!

Ich habe hier ein Gerät mit ausgeschalteten Auto-Updates.
Gestern hat der PlayStore alle Apps geupdatet. WTF .

Hab dann nachgeschaut - Auto-Updates im PlayStore waren plötzlich angeschaltet. WARUM? Ich war es nicht, und andere Benutzer streiten es ab . Sowas ändert man doch nicht versehentlich? Hab daher eine böse Vermutung Richtung Google/Bug.

Jedenfalls ist jetzt der Kiwi-Browser nicht mehr richtig brauchbar, da die Tableiste (vermute Bug im Grafiktreiber) nun meist eine unsichtbare einfarbige Fläche ist. *KOTZ*
Downgrades gehen bekanntlich nicht ohne alle Benutzerdaten zu löschen.

Firefox hab ich jetzt Fenix statt Fennec. Edit: und evtl. sind alle Benutzerdaten zerstört weil der Versionssprung zu groß war. Hab's noch nicht geprüft.
Total Commander ist jetzt die neue (wegen Ärger mit Google) kastrierte PlayStore Version.

Von wegen nur neueste Versionen von Android erhalten Cell Broadcast Nachrichten.

Mein Gerät mit Android 4.4. hat heute zwei Presidential Alerts angezeigt.

Hab ich auch erwartet, denn das Gerät hat eine ordentliche Cell Broadcast Implementierung:
Im Gegensatz zu neueren Androidversionen, die nur eine vorgegebene Konfiguration unterstützen, kann man hier selber beliebige Kanäle abonnieren (und abbestellen) !
Kanäle wie 919 waren voreingestellt.

Die Implementierung ist aber möglicherweise nicht aus AOSP, sondern von Huawei oder Mediatek. Vermute eher letzteres, da das Gerät DualSIM kann, was AOSP damals noch gar nicht konnte.

Lineage OS 20 ist da!

LineageOS now has an awesome new camera app called Aperture! It is based on Google’s (mostly) awesome CameraX library and provides a much closer “to stock” camera app experience on many devices.

LineageOS 18.1 builds were not deprecated this year, as Google’s somewhat harsh requirements of BPF support in all Android 12+ device kernels meant that a significant amount of our legacy devices on the build-roster would have died.

Instead of killing LineageOS 18.1, it is on a feature freeze, while still accepting device submissions, and building each device monthly, shortly after the Android Security Bulletin is merged for that month.
