Nowhere in this Star Ocean 4 interview does he say that SO4 is only for one platform. He says it's for "hardware that can display beautiful graphics," but beyond that it has not been decided. (He might be hoping for a moneyhat?)
• The game "isn't that far off"
• Specific details on SO4's release will be available by the time people are done playing the SO1 and SO2 remakes
• In its current stage the battles are already playable, but full of placeholder elements
• The story is done, and while he can't talk about its setting yet, there might be some surprises related to that at the TGS. But it won't be so different that characters from other games in the series won't be able to return.
• He concedes that past Star Ocean games have not really felt like they were set in an ocean of stars. In this one you will be able to pilot a ship and travel to different worlds, and while it will retain fantasy elements, it will live up to the series' title more than the previous games in the series have.
• The man and woman in the screenshot are the hero and heroine of the game. As a teaser they placed figures of them in the display at the SE party and he was disappointed that almost no one noticed.
• The heroine's name is Reimi. The hero's name is... (cough) (sputter) EDGE MAVERICK! EDGE FRICKING MAVERICK! Bwahahaha! Seriously!
• There aren't just two or three planets in the galaxy this time. There are more. Sounds like a lot more.
• You can have four companions with you in battle this time. There are a lot of new elements and it doesn't really feel like the battle system of SO3.
• Private Actions will, of course, return.

Aus der Famitsu. Es soll nicht Mult iwerden, soviel scheint fix. Zudem kamen die Remakes für die PSP. Angekündigt wurde es im Frühling und dass es schon soweit in der Entwicklung ist, lässt auf die "White Engine" hoffen.
TriAce, der Entwickler, haben ihr eigenes XBox360 Spiel. Könnte auch diese Engine sein. alles nur spekulationen.
Eins weis ich sicher, wenn es so langweilig wie Teil 3 wird, dann ohne mich. Hab mich bis kurz vor dem Ende der 1. DVD durchgeschlagen, dann war die Motivation vorbei. Könnte aber auch an den englischen Texten liegen.

Und zum 3 teil, ich habe ihn durchgespielt...was mich am meisten genervt hat, waren wirklich die viel zu langen englischen texte, denn selbst wenn man gut englisch kann, nervt es dich nach einiger zeit, weil es doch sehr sehr viel ist. Story an sich fand ich gar nicht mal sooo schlecht, Kampfsystem auch nid. Hoffe aber das man das im 4 teil doch mal einigen Veränderungen unterzieht.
Die Serie ist für mich das besser Tales of xD

Ich für mein Teil warte Lieber ab bevor ich mich freue, denn ich kann mir nid jedes Jahr neue Konsolen Kaufen.
Und warum nicht auf der Box? Ein Ace Combat ist jetzt auch kein PlayStation Spiel mehr...Die Zeiten haben sich geändert.

Esrafil hat recht die white engine ist eine multiplattform engine, dennoch glaube ich das star ocean 4 für die ps3 kommen wird.
ohne einen koffer voll geld von microsoft wird kein japanisches studio auch nur einen furz für die xbox360 entwickeln, die leute machen spiele die in japan gern gespielt werden und welche konsole hat mühe den gamecube in japan in schach zu halten? richtig, die xbox360, die mehr als beschissen in japan läuft.

Wenn man doch schon so viel Geld in eine Eigenentwicklung investiert hat.
Das Gerücht, das die WE eine MultiEngine ist, stammt vom ehemaligen SE Chef, jetzt Mistwalker. Dann gab es noch die Aussage, das SE eine Muliplattform Online Spiel machen will. Dort hat man hinein intapretiert, dass die WE dafür hergenommen wird und daher Multi sein muss.
Alles nur Gerüchte und bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt ist die offizelle SE Meldung "White Engine is for the PS3". Solange gilt dass, bis das erste Spiel Multi wird oder SE was anderes sagt.
