Erste Infos:

EA and Insomniac Games Reveal New Four-Player Co-Op Action Game Overstrike 9, which is comprised of an ex-mercenary, a thief, a scientist and a detective.
Overstrike 9 are considered “outcasts” but are thought to be the best available when a terrorist group tries to destroy humankind.
“Overstrike presents a unique blend of features that have long been a part of the Insomniac DNA: high powered gadgets, action-heavy gameplay, memorable characters in a deep and mysterious universe and of course a touch of humor,” said Insomniac CEO, Ted Price.
“And since this is our first multiplatform game, we’re especially excited to introduce ourselves to a new audience — one which may not have experienced our previous games.”
No date yet – expect that to be announced during the press conference going on right now – but it’ll launch on PS3 and 360.

Interessant im eurogamer-Interview (wo vg247 praktisch dazu gehört, liest sich das ETWAS anders):

Eurogamer: Is Overstrike a first-person or third-person game?
Ted Price: It's a third-person action game.
Eurogamer: Would you say it's a third-person shooter?
Ted Price: I would describe it as a four-player co-op game where you're playing as one of a selection of characters who you saw in the video, using these cool weapons and gadgets, some of which you got to see.

Klingt nicht unterssant. Werde Overstrike auf jeden Fall im Auge behalten. Das könnte ein vielvesprechendes Game werden. Und ich würde auch sagen, das zu dem Game die Third Person Ansicht besser passt, als die Ego Ansicht. Aber das ist nur meine Meinung.

Overstrike skipped E3 2012 to be shown this summer instead, says EA

Insomniac has plans to show Overstrike off later this year, according to EA Labels president Frank Gibeau, who said the game missed E3 this year in order to get a bit more polish before showing it to the press. Speaking with CVG, Gibeau said: “It felt like we would stand out better later in the summer once we’ve hit some key milestones and we’re able to show off more,” he said. gamescom then? Sound like it might be the venue, although EA has yet to announce it’s plans for the European games conference. Overstrike was first announced during E3 2011 as a first-person, four-player co-op shooter in development through EA Partners. A release window has yet to be announced.

Ich finde der Typ im Bild sieht dem main chara aus Overstrike sehr ähnlich..
Kann es sein dass die Jungs Overstrike umbenannt haben?. Ist inzwischen zu lange her dass mann was von Overstrike gehört hat.

@Greek God: Kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass die zwei Spiele in Entwicklung haben, die sich so ähnlich sehen. Schade. Mir gefiel der Name Overstrike SEHR viel besser als Fuse.

Fuse – Insomniac’s Overstrike has been reworked, renamed

Insomniac Games has renamed and reworked Overstrike, its new shooter in the works, which will from here on out be referred to as Fuse.




The firm’s founder Ted Price announced during his PAX Prime keynote today a new IP called Fuse, which Polygon noted looked “similar to Insomniac’s already announced shooter Overstrike.”

Game Informer went live with a post confirming that Fuse and Overstrike are indeed one and the same, and that the game has been reworked since last shown to the masses.

Fuse has a website available, but for the time being it only shows a countdown clock which looks to expire next month around September 11.

Insomniac Games announced Overstrike during E3 2011 and little has been heard about the game since, until today.

Back in June, EA said it skipped showing Overstrike at E3 2012 in order to give it more polish before showing it to the press. According to EA Labels president Frank Gibeau the game would “stand out better later in the summer once we’ve hit some key milestones and we’re able to show off more.”

Fuse is a first-person, four-player co-op shooter and is without a release date at present.

jo ist wirklich Overstrike gewesen Schade mir hat der alte Name auch besser gefallen, Overstrike rollte besser über die Zunge^^
