EA: 60m Xbox One & PS4 / No $50-$100 Million VR Plans.

There are now around 60 million combined PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles out there, according to EA CFO Blake Jorgensen. This is up from his estimation of 55 million console sales at the end of 2015.

He said before a company like EA would consider spending $50-$100 million to build a full game for VR, the market size needs to grow to the level of consoles. He described the console markets today as "large," estimating PS4/Xbox One to make up 60 million and 150 million-plus for PS3/Xbox 360.

Also during the presentation, Jorgensen revealed that about 25 percent of all EA game sales are full-game downloads. This figure can vary by title and geography, as well as bandwidth speed and cashless transaction availability. It is up from the 20 percent figure disclosed by EA in November, though that figure (expected to grow to 40 percent in the coming 3-4 years) pertained specifically to PS4 and Xbox One.

The Division is the UK's biggest ever game launch during the first three months of any year.

The online shooter's arrival last week was the biggest Q1 debut for any game since previous record holder, PS2 racer Gran Turismo 4 back in 2005.

Ubisoft previously said that The Division was its biggest ever game launch worldwide full stop.

In the UK, it was Ubisoft's third-biggest ever game release - behind Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 3. The publisher will hopefully be happy with the news - although after four years of development it's likely Ubisoft needs the game to be a colossal success.

54 per cent of physical copies were sold on PlayStation 4, while 45 per cent were sold on Xbox One - a pretty close platform split. No doubt Microsoft's marketing spend and promise of early access to the game's DLC helped here.

Boxing game Punch Club has been pirated over 1.5m times, publisher tiny Build has announced.
That sounds bad - and it is - but (but!) the game has also sold over 300k copies, which isn't bad at all.

It turns out that 72.9 per cent of the revenue came from the PC version (including Mac and Linux), while while only 27.1 per cent came from mobile. When it comes to piracy, however, 68.9 per cent of the pirated copies were of the PC release, while only 31.1 per cent were of the mobile version.

For a more exact figure, Punch Club has been pirated over 1.6m times with 1,137,000 on PC / Mac / Linux, and 514,000 times on mobile. 90 per cent of the pirated mobile copies were on Android.

Looking at the difference between pirated copies and sales the day the game was localised into Portugese (about two weeks after launch), Germany had the best sales-to-piracy ratio with 46 per cent who bought the game instead of pirated it. Second place was the United States with 26.2 per cent, followed by France with 18.8 per cent.

Mich wundert, daß sich darüber noch jemand wundert . Leider mittlerweile sehr üblich das User Tracking und Auswerten der Nutzung zu diversen Zwecken.

On the other side our analytics tools (Unity Analytics + a 3rd party tool) track all activations via fingerprinting. We take overall amount of activations minus legit sales per platform minus 10% (to offset for people who activated a legit copy on more than 1 device).

Nicht am PC, und sowas wie Netzwerkzugriff wird bei Android evtl. nicht mal mehr angezeigt im Store. Zudem welches Spiel kommt komplett ohne Onlinefunktion.

It’s an extremely tight battle for the crown as racing in just behind is Codemasters’ ‘Dirt Rally’ on Xbox One, PS4 & PC. It’s an impressive debut for the title beating launch week sales of 2012’s ‘Dirt Showdown’ by an impressive 197%. It sits in good company in Codemasters’ popular Dirt series in 3rd place behind ‘Colin McRae: Dirt 2’ and ‘Dirt 3’ for opening week sales.

Microsoft has said Quantum Break is now the best-selling new Microsoft Studios IP this generation, as well as being the best-selling boxed game in the UK this week.

That means it's outsold the likes of Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive, a fellow new Microsoft Studios IP that launched this generation.

Xbox One may be a little bit on a slow down in the USA or in the UK but here in Russia it's basically dead.

I don't know in which thread it would be more appropriate to post this but here in Russia we got pretty amusing situation today. EA Russia decided NOT TO SELL Mirror's Edge Catalyst for Xbox One (retail disc version) at all.

There's rumor circulating among retailers that EA is gonna support disc versions for Xbox One for only the biggest titles like Battlefield or FIFA in Russia but pull the plug on all the other upcoming games for Xbox One. That basically means that there are almost no sales of Xbox One games here in Russia. Though I asked some retailers and they say that big games like GTA5, Destiny, COD or FIFA are still selling for Xbox One though in 1:50 to PS4 or even lower ratio

As for other regions, quantities have been small to begin with. According to sources at retail here in India, Sony's last shipment of the PS Vita was almost a year ago.

"They brought in around 1,500 last year and nothing else," a game store owner told Gadgets 360. "It might not be end-of-life but it's not selling much anyway."

This should come as no surprise considering that local retail interest to the PS Vita has been tepid at best. The high price doesn't help either.

"The installed base is much smaller compared to any other console," said the erstwhile PlayStation India head Atindriya Bose in an interview with Gadgets 360 last year. Sony and Insomniac make a triumphant return with a first outing on PS4 for ‘Ratchet & Clank’, the first in the series to debut at No1.

The game debuts just a few days before the movie (UK release date is 29th April). The game series began back in week 45, 2002 on PS2 with ‘Ratchet and Clank’ having held the previous best week 1 for All Formats chart postion (No15). In terms of week 1 sales units the record was held by 2009’s PS3 ‘Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time’, but the current release beats this by a factor of 3. Bandai Namco’s ‘Dark Souls III’ drops to No2 after 1 week at the top (-80%) and EA climb 9 places to No3 with ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ (+177%) – of course this is also the week where ‘Star Wars The Force Awakens’ arrived on DVD/Blu-ray.
